Seventeen miles north of downtown Houston and one mile south of Old Town Spring, with over 200 shops & historic museums, lies one of the most serene and inviting bed and breakfast spots in Texas. McLachlan Farm is nestled among towering sycamore and pecan trees in the middle of neatly mowed grounds and winding forest trails. As you drive down the tree-shaded drive leading to the secluded and picturesque homestead, it's like a step back in time to an era of gracious lifestyles and down-home hospitality ... and all just 15 minutes from Bush IAH Airport, Woodlands Mall, Tour 18 Golf Course, Houston Open Golf Tournament or the Antique Mecca of Tomball, TX.
The large yellow farmhouse is surrounded by wraparound porches, with swings hanging lazily from its high rafters. Inside, one immediately senses an atmosphere of love and warmth that invites you to sit down and stay awhile. Known by friends as "Mr. & Mrs. Hospitality", Jim & Joycelyn feel it is an honor and responsibility to be the caretakers of 140 years of family history. To Joycelyn, the house is her canvas through which she shares the memories of her family with others, while inviting guests to take time to create memories of their own.
Elegantly decorated with antiques, quilts and Victorian glassware, guests feel pampered and relaxed as they indulge in a candlelight bubble bath or swing on the porch or partake of the country gourmet breakfast served each morning. It all adds up to a chance to escape - if only for a few hours.
