MAC ROOM

Named for the McLachlan family, this room is part of the original house. The ceilings are 12 feet high, with parts of the original wall exposed. Painted wisteria cascades around the walls of the room. The room features a large bay window with floor-to-ceiling windows that open up the room to a beautiful view of the wooded grounds. It was the master bedroom for the family, as well as the "birthing" room for three of the McLachlan children. (Be sure and ask about Joycelyn's cousin who was stillborn in this room and how a wood stove saved her!) The queen size iron canopy bed is wrapped with grapevine and flowers that set off the beautiful quilt coverlet and painted walls. Guests have their own cozy sitting area with an adjoining private bath.
The Mac Room is located on the ground floor and faces the front and side porches. A phone and separate computer outlet is located in the room. A TV is available upon request.

HEATHER ROOM

The largest and most requested room is named for the Clairmonte's daughter. The Heather Room has a slanted ceiling along one wall giving it the look of an attic room. It is furnished with a queen size iron bed, sitting area and TV/VCR that sets off the romantic English country decor. This room features a large porch with an old-fashioned swing that reminds you of grandma's house. It overlooks the woods and forest trails and is often rented by couples celebrating their honeymoon or anniversary. The bath is across the hall, but couples have the upstairs to themselves which makes for a cozy private retreat. Guest bathrobes are available. A phone and separate computer outlet is located in the room for corporate guests. If family or friends need additional room, there is another bedroom upstairs that may be rented with the Heather for $95 per night. The upstairs has its own heating and air system.

For those special times when you want an "extra touch", consider our Special Occasion Package. It consists of gourmet cider chilled in a silver bucket with goblets set on a silver tray. Also included are fresh flowers, chocolates and bubble bath. This is set out in your room for your arrival or upon your return from dinner.
